Spirit Lake Warden visits Dubuque for game preserve

State Warden E. Hinshaw of Spirit Lake toured the Dubuque region fourteen miles south near the Trappist monastery to evaluate establishing a state game preserve. He found the area ideal and noted needs for farmer cooperation, a custodian, and winter feeding for quail and pheasants. Representative Cullough supports the project.

Ames to Manufacture Hog Serum Laboratory

Dr. Chas H Stange dean of veterinary medicine at Ames named director of the hog cholera serum laboratory to be built at Ames by order of the last legislature. President R A Pearson made the appointment and plans are underway to begin manufacture soon. Until then serum will be bought from the Kansas state laboratory and supplied to the state farm arm at cost.

Michigan Senator Proposes Billion Dollar Emergency Currency Plan

Growth of Parcel Post Surges in April Across Cities

Reports from the post office department show 59,900,000 parcel post packages mailed in April, about 54 percent more than January. Chicago led with 6,397,602 parcels, followed by New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and St. Louis in order.
