A law requires all public garages to keep a record of license numbers and engine numbers for vehicles taken in or held for selling rental livery storage or repairs. Records must include owner and keeper names and addresses and the garage must notify sheriff or police if engine numbers are altered. A $100 fine is prescribed for violations.
The state G A R encampment is held this week at Davenport. Local attendees include Major Cadwell John Koeppen Mrs P B Brodrick president of the Relief Corps and Mrs Kelly delegate.
The total Liberty loan subscriptions fall about 275000 with Decorah Ossian Calmar Fort Atkinson Spillville Ridgeway all subscribing through local banks. Names of subscribers from Decorah Burr Oak Ridgeway Calmar Ossian are compiled and to be sent to Washington.
