Federal funds eyed for Winneshiek highways plan
A Decorah Commercial club committee pressed the county board to apply for federal highway aid. The plan targets Burr Oak Ridgeway Calmar and Waukon roads, linking county seats and principal travel points. Work includes raising Trout Run mill approach and railroad bridge upgrades with funds starting 1920, plus portions from automobile funds, to average eleven miles per road now and expand to county lines later.
