The Landlord's New Creed in Alabama Farming
John Boyce cites Mrs. G. H. Mathis as field agent for the Alabama State Bankers Association, urging landlords to view tenants as partners. She argues that shared ownership of land and stock, plus cash purchases through bank credit, can end the cotton dependence and promote diversification, soil care, and better farming business practices across Alabama and the South.
