Tax Case Judgments Entered by Judge Hatmar Court
In county court this morning Judge Hatmar entered final judgment against delinquents in the 1895 taxes as county treasurer Pattergton proceeds with sales. Objections by G A Allison Ronch McReynolis Dickey were sustained for land assessed twice, while Wabash Road Company objections were overruled for taxes in Oakley Wheatland Bina Mound and Slwath. Tax in Deestur township reduced from 116 to 932.65. E D Walker objection overruled.

George Peele aged nearly 86 died at his home in Corro Gorda on Monday afternoon. One of Piatt county’s oldest settlers he ran a tavern and post office in early days near Corro Gorda. Survived by wife and six children including George Peak and Mrs. Lavie Town of Decatur. Grandchildren listed include Mrs. S. G. Huff and Miss Mauda Peck of Decatur. A longtime Methodist, he was highly regarded by the community.
