Texas Treasurer Ann Richards distributed 7.3 million dollars in road grants to all 254 counties for right of way purchases and road construction and maintenance. North Texas counties received 1.1 million, Comanche County got 26077.16, allocation based on area rural population and road mileage.

Mrs. Smith Appointed To Texas Dietitians Board
Governor Mark White appointed Dale Smith of De Leon to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians for a term to September 1, 1989. Smith, 54, a dietitian consultant, born August 1, 1929, holds a degree from Texas Woman's University and is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Consultant Dietitians in Health Care Facilities Practice Group. The appointment follows SB 671, 68th Legislature, creating the board.
