Bearcats Coach notes need for more consistency after improved showing

Rocky Atchley went 8 for 15 and Ledbetter completed 2 of 9 with 3 interceptions. Receivers Darrell Preston and Lewis gained 11 and 5 yards respectively. Green Thumb Workers Attend Seminar in De Leon

Over 100 Green Thumb workers and sponsors attended a quarterly Green Thumb Training Seminar at the De Leon Senior Citizens Center. Topics covered buying medicine safety nutrition and a panel on Food Stamps. The federally funded program aids older rural workers through part-time placements with local nonprofits. National Hunting And Fishing Day Events At Proctor Lake

National Hunting and Fishing Day activities at Proctor Lake on September 22 include boat and trailer displays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM at Copperas Creek Park group shelter. NRA display, fishing guidance from Proctor Lake Bass Club members, a 4:30 PM talk by Weldon Turner, Coast Guard Auxiliary boat examinations 2:00 to 6:00 PM, and wildlife films 8:30 to 10:00 PM with free admission.

Secretary Bergland to Visit West Texas on Tour

U S Secretary of Agriculture Bob Bergland will visit Stephenville on Friday for a farmers Q and A at Tarleton State University Livestock Pavilion after meeting Texas A M Research Center staff. F M 65 Club Members Enjoy Imperials Concert in Brownwood

The F and M 65 Club took two 47 passenger buses to Brownwood on September 7 for an evening of food and gospel music. They dined at Underwood's Cafeteria before attending a two hour concert by the Imperials at the Brown County Coliseum. The group, known for gospel and instrumental work, has appeared on national television and won a Grammy last year. Hostesses were Mildred Singleton Norma Higginbottom Lena Taylor and Sue Wilson.
