Four De Leon Residents Detained After Labor Day Incident
Comanche County Sheriff reports four De Leon residents in custody on Labor Day related to an incident near De Leon. A boy and his uncle were at the dump grounds when the boy sought help in town. A pickup offered a ride, the occupants demanded money, the boy fled as the vehicle stalled, and two pursuers followed. Junior High Student Injured in Pickup Accident
Angie Jarrett of De Leon Junior High was injured Friday when thrown from a pickup as it turned a corner at Ross and Texas Streets. Accompanying students Stacey Jones and Robbie Sledge rode on a toolbox in the back. Jarrett suffered a broken collar bone and was taken to De Leon Hospital. The incident occurred at 3:50 p.m. on September 2.
