Queens and Sweethearts Presented at Homecoming
At De Leon High School Homecoming week events last week, Janell Straub was crowned 1977 Homecoming Queen. Nancy Weaver Brown, formerly 1964 queen, received the Coming Home Queen honor. Jodean Miller was named Bearcat Football Sweetheart with presentations by Bearcat captains David Walker and Randall Clark. Tim Beaty presented FFA Sweetheart Jill Miller, and Dana Grisham introduced FHA Beau Gregory Cisneroz. Julie Andress was named Mighty Maroon Band Sweetheart by band VP Mark Barton.

Eisenrich Named Fellow of American Academy of Family Physicians
Dr. F. A. Eisenrich of De Leon was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Fellows earn the title FAAFP after 600 hours of study or board certification. The award was conferred October 11 during the Academy’s Las Vegas convention before about 2,500 attendees.

Junior Class Halloween Coronation Night at High School
The Junior Class sponsors the Halloween Queen Coronation at 9 00 p m Saturday October 29 in the High School Auditorium. A short program and entertainment will be offered with a cake auction during the event. Spook contestants must arrive by 9 00 p m and jack o lanterns by 8 00 p m for judging. Prizes will be awarded. Representatives should arrive by 8 30 p m.
Nabors Honored At Graham Banquet For 25 Years Service
Charles Nabors a 25 year Texas Electric employee received a watch at a banquet held October 24 at the American Legion Hall in Graham. Texas Electric president Bill Marquardt gave the presentation. Nabors joined the company in 1952 and completed 25 years in February 1977. He is a De Leon Volunteer Fire Department member for 26 years. He attends Liberty Baptist Church and runs a farming and cattle operation. He was among 13 honored as Quarter Century Club members with attendees from De Leon and Gorman.
