Bearcats Rise in AA Rankings After Eastland Win

Bearcats defeated Eastland Mavericks Friday night boosting to number 15 in AA per Harris Rating. Eastland falls to 20 while 10-AA teams Cisco, San Saba, Bangs, Dublin, Ranger and Early hold positions with scores listed. Predictions favor De Leon over Cisco, Eastland over Bangs, Dublin over Early, and San Saba over Ranger.

Deer Permits Set for Comanche County on November 4

On Wednesday November 4 the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will issue waterless deer permits for portions of Comanche County as stated by Bill Works. Permits will be available at the Comanche County Courthouse from 8 AM to 5 PM.

USDA waives liquidated damages fee for re-entry of some peanuts

U S handlers with U S grown peanuts sold for export may avoid the 10 cent liquidated damages fee if reentry does not disrupt the domestic price support program. CCC will review cases on their merits as about 8.8 million pounds have been reimported amid drought and a short 1980 crop.

The De Leon First United Methodist Church will hold its annual Harvest Festival on Saturday November 7 with the theme The Good Earth Gods Great Miracle. Activities start at 10:00 a.m. at De Leon City Hall featuring Grandma's Attic Country Store Country Kitchen Sandwich Shop and Kiddie Korner.
