Prospects Good On New Industry In De Leon

The De Leon Industrial Foundation reports strong prospects for a new industry in De Leon. Bibby’s Creations of Rising Star will interview and accept applications for sewing machine operators in ladies handbags Friday and Saturday October 19-20 from 9 am to 4 pm at 208 N Texas. If fifteen to twenty operators are hired this weekend the plant will open within thirty days and employ about thirty workers.

Adults Can Enroll In Local Education Program

The Pe Leon Public Schools announce an adult education program funded by state and federal agencies. Open to residents age 17 and up who lack a high school diploma, offering credit toward a diploma or GED preparation. 120 hours total, meeting one or two nights weekly, no tuition, minimum ten students, begin within two weeks with registration through the Superintendent of Schools.
