Park Renovation Fund Dinner Draws 300 In De Leon

Park Renovation Committee held a barbecue supper Friday night drawing over 300 attendees to support the project. All items except meat and paper products were donated by local clubs, with profits expected to exceed $500 per Pat Eisenrich of the Chamber of Commerce.

The annual Future Farmers of America appreciation barbecue occurred Monday night at the ag building for livestock buyers from last year’s county show and the FFA boys parents. De Leon and Bangs battled to a 20 20 draw as the Bearcats led most of the game in the first district matchup. De Leon opened with a 46 yard march capped by John Ledbetter's 9 yard run and the extra point by Jerry Walker.

HOT CHECKS FEES SET BY TEXAS LAW IN COMANCHE COUNTY

Comanche County Attorney James Edwards warns hot check offenders that new state law imposes escalation fees for collections. The fee schedule ranges from 5 dollars for checks up to 10 dollars to 75 dollars for amounts over 500 dollars. Collected fees go to a county special fund managed by the county or district attorney.
