De Leon Library Honored as City Library of the Month
The De Leon Public Library, highlighted in Big Country by Abilene Public Library System, earned Library of the Month honors. Founded by the De Leon Shakespeare Club in 1921, it moved from Mrs. Sue Greenparks home to City Hall and now occupies its present location with Nancy Scott as librarian and Lucille Preston as assistant. The 8:30 to 5:30 weekday hours support the Summer Reading Club, which distributed certificates to 60 children.
