Grades and yields are high with most farmers enjoying a good crop. About 80 to 85 percent harvested. farmers aiding neighbors, harvest should wrap up soon.

Tickets for the De Leon versus Clifton regional football game in Granbury Friday at 8:00 p.m. go on sale Tuesday morning at the De Leon school office until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. Weaver Drug will sell tickets Friday until 2:00 p.m. Adult price is 2.50, students 1.00, and gate tickets 3.00. De Leon is the home team.

Scott Wins Football Contest

This week's Football contest proved tough as most entries missed four or more games. Hadley Scott was flawless with one miss and takes first prize of $5.00. Checks totaling 13.2 million were sent to 640 Texas cities as November rebates of the one cent city sales tax. The distribution marks a nearly thirteen percent rise from last year with consumer spending cited as a sign of a healthy economy. Senior Citizens Luncheon Guides Community Needs

Senior Citizens and city officials gathered at the Senior Citizens Center last Tuesday November 16 for a group discussion. Bob Lee of Ranger Junior College moderated the discussions on the Aging A Human Condition program funded by the West Central Texas Council of Government and the Texas Committee for Humanities. The group aimed to produce a community needs summary to be sent to the Governor's Committee on Aging. De Leon Mayor Scotty Campbell and Councilmen Emmett Moore and Jim Wilkerson attended with their spouses.

Salvation Army Sets Goal for De Leon Drive

A goal of 850 dollars was set for the De Leon Salvation Army Service Unit Fund Drive which began Tuesday November 23. Campaign chairman Wes Harper and committee head Wayne Chambers urged local support noting past generosity. Funds collected in the drive will support the emergency fund program.
