J C W notes Nixon guidelines to save fuel this winter. Lower thermostats and insulate homes with storm windows reduce consumption by 15 to 25 percent. Weather strip doors and windows and let sun heat rooms. Keep big cars tuned and drive slower to save fuel without sacrificing comfort.
De Leon Bearcats, 10-A champions, meet Eldorado Eagles in Brady Friday at 7 30. Eldorado, 7-1-2, 4-0-2 in district, touts senior experience and speed led by Ken Peters and Mike Mannne. Gene Nixon guides a Wing T offense while the defense features guard tandem Holley and Martines.
