American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Day Reminds Service Honor
On November 11 the Auxiliary will offer the red crepe poppy to the public in De Leon by Unit 471. Volunteers will participate in the nationwide Poppy Day program to honor citizen soldiers who died in four wars. Funds aid needy veterans and their families through handmade poppies crafted by disabled and hospitalized veterans in Poppy Shops. Poppies are offered for a contribution, not a set price.
