Permits To Be Issued For Antlerless Deer In Comanche County
Comanche County will issue deer killing permits for the November 18 to January 1 season on Friday November 3. Applications landowners or authorized representatives file at Billy Works office in the courthouse from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon and 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Each 205 acres yields one antlerless permit, Lamkin area 86 acres per permit, with three total deer and at most two bucks per hunter. Doe permits required in addition to usual tags. A map is included in this week's paper.

Fair Ladies Tour Big Bend Area and West Texas
Sue Wileen and thirty six members of the Fair Ladies club departed De Leon on Friday October 20 for a four day tour of the Big Bend country and West Texas. Lunch in San Angelo featured a welcome from Ronnie Nowlin who presented each guest with a cosmetics bag. The itinerary included Fort Stockton with historic sites, Fort Davis and its frontier past, a visit to McDonald Observatory atop Mount Locke, a side trip to Terlingua ghost town, and extensive descriptions of the Chisos Mountains and Big Bend National Park.
