The DeLeon Booster Club hosted the All Sports Banquet on May 15 at PAR Country Club honoring DHS 1975-76 Bearcats and Kittens. Football finished 15-0 and state champions. basketball, golf, and track teams earned district bi district and regional honors. Individual awards highlighted Craig Smith as outstanding basketball and football captains James Hodges and Craig Smith received top honors.

A new Sears Authorized Catalog Agency Store opens in DeLeon on Thursday May 27 1976 at 9 00 a m located at 110 N Texas The owner manager Mrs LaJoyce Johnson says the locally owned facility will provide full service for catalog customers with orders placed in person or by phone and shipped from Dallas or directly to customers.

Bearcat Track Team Competes at State Meet in Austin
Toby Hare placed second in the state discus with a 154 10 throw, season best 164 6 at district in Brownwood. Cleere finished fifth in 120 yard high hurdles before an injury halted the 330 yard intermediate race, forcing a relay scratch. Memphis won Class A with 46 points, Karnack second with 35. Five Bearcats qualified for state: Hare Cleere Rogers Walker Shoemaker.

Senior Citizens Center Opens in DeLeon
A city county and Council of Government effort created a senior center in DeLeon. A house moved to city property near the park serves as a gathering spot with a director, donated equipment, games, and crafts. About 600 visitors have used the center in three months, with activities on Wednesdays and Tuesdays.

De Leon Board Offers Summer Language Arts Class
The DeLeon Board of Education authorizes a seventh grade Language Arts summer class starting June 7 1976 from 9 to 12 for about six weeks. Tuition is 50 dollars and a minimum of eleven students is required by June 2 1976. Registration occurs in the high school principal's office.

City considers street light replacement with Mercury Globes
