For fifteen years the E S A has hosted a Mexican supper seen as a local tradition in De Leon. The event draws strong community support as residents claim the food is among the best Mexican in town. Attendance and interest are expected to rise again this Friday night.

Dr. H Q Sibley acting executive director of the Texas Animal Health Commission ordered a 60 day restriction on swine movements to control hog cholera. Movement of feeder and breeder swine requires a permit after herd inspection with direct shipments allowed for slaughter. Special permissions, sanitation rules, and pre movement inspections apply.

National FHA Week Promotes Teen Civic Service
National Future Homemakers of America Week runs March 28 to April 3 with 600000 members in over 12000 chapters nationwide. The De Leon Peanut Company awarded four area peanut farmers $100 each for top yields in irrigated and dry land peanuts. Winners include Buster McDonald of Comanche for irrigated 20 acre minimum, Jerry Stark of Dublin for 50 acre irrigated, Dalton Perkins of Comanche for dry land 20 acres, and Norman Moore of Sidney for dry land 59 acres. Voters in Justice of the Peace precinct No 4 approve off premise alcohol sales by a 158 to 128 margin on Saturday.
