Election Ballots Complete for City School and Hospital Races

All ballots are complete for the city, school, and hospital elections on Saturday, April 3. City mayoral candidates are Pat Eisenrich, Connie Gardner, and Scotty Campbell, with Mayor M D Stewart not seeking reelection. City Council has R M Tate, Glenn Bruton, and Jim H Wilkerson running, while incumbent Scotty Campbell runs for mayor. School board filing includes Bob Huddleston, Jackie Johnson, Ben Boen, Bill Lindsey, Bill Anderson, and Marsha Sides. Forrest Eisenrich runs unopposed for one year. Hospital board contenders are incumbents Hiram Smith Jr and Fred Williams.

Open House for New Hospital in De Leon

The De Leon Hospital District invites the public to an open house at the new ultra modern De Leon Hospital on Sunday March 21 from 2 to 5 PM. The $1.2 million addition, occupied February 20, expands to 40 beds with new laboratory radiology 32 bed unit 8 bed ICU CCU emergency department bassinet nursery and delivery area. Completion of alterations is set for April 15. Hospital administrator Jack F. Heath highlights patient care as a key design goal and invites citizens to tour the facility.
