Two unknown men robbed Holdridge & Sons Store on Texas Street near Clover Farm Grocery, stealing about 472 dollars. The armed pair coordinated the heist while eight to ten customers and clerks remained unaware until after the escape through the back door. Authorities suspect an expert crew and a getaway car outside.

De Leon Junior High to Hold Weekly Savings Stamp Days

Follies Of 55 Goes Over In Big Way
The Darktown Follies of 1955 drew a large crowd at the High School Auditorium on Friday February 25. The De Leon Garden Club sponsored the event with two string trios opening the show and a minstrel directed by Mrs J H Vance and Mrs Lex Shelby. Mary Lynn Black won first prize in the Baby Show followed by Tommy Nabors and Deborah Ann Nowlin for second and third. Proceeds support remodeling of the Garden Club House.
