Silliman Evans Dies in Fort Worth at 61
Nashville publisher Silliman Evans 61 died of a heart attack in his Fort Worth Club room during a funeral trip for Amon G. Carter. He was publisher of the Nashville Tennessean and Am erican Airlines director, survived by wife, two sons, a granddaughter Janet Evans, a brother Henry Moore Evans, and a sister Mrs. Edgar Neil. Funeral services were held in Brentwood Methodist Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Nabors Lake Swimming Pool opens for the season with a filtered water supply and a shallow area for children. A lifeguard will be on duty during swim sessions and refreshments are available at a concession stand. R S McCharen Former County Judge Dies in Abilene
R S McCharen former county judge of Comanche County served 1935 to 1941 and died Monday June 20 in Abilene at his daughter's home. Funeral at First Methodist Church De Leon with Rev Floyd Thrash. interment in De Leon Cemetery. He helped build the 1940 Comanche County Courthouse and was a noted farmer and civic leader. He was born in Mississippi in 1872 and settled in De Leon after moving from Comanche.

Allen Howard Bibby born March 9 1889 in Arkansas died June 24 1955 at his De Leon home aged 66 years 3 months 15 days. He married Ivah Hampton in 1918 and is survived by his wife son and two grandchildren among others. Funeral rites were held at McCharen's Lake on his farm with Sharp and Nabors directing.
