MOD DRIVE JAN 6 MARCH OF DIMES KICKS OFF IN DE LEON
The annual Mothers March for the March of Dimes begins in De Leon on Sunday January 16 and runs through the week. Mrs Donald Setvler is the De Leon chairman. Scouts from De Leon join as a new goodwill project for 1972. Funds mostly stay in Comanche County to aid patient care, including a birth-defect case supported by Comanche CO Chapter MOD.

Local Project Show Delivers Big Win For 4H Youth
105 entries competed in the De Leon PFA 4H Annual Junior Livestock Show. David Abbey won grand champion with a Duroc, Terrill took champion lamb, and Pam Whiteside the top Hereford steer. Ribbons went to Ricky Morgan reserve barrow and Marney Wilkerson reserve lamb. Judges were Dr. Johnny Johnson and Gene Jernegan, with Becky Dossey presenting trophies. Monday, January 17th became a regular school day due to weather make-up.
