The 1973 De Leon 4H and FFA Junior Livestock Show is expected to be the largest yet with over 150 entries. Show starts Saturday at 8 30 am with 17 classes across swine cattle and sheep judged by Caraway Templeton.

The De Leon Volunteer Fire Department is collecting clothing and canned foods for Managua earthquake victims. Donated items should be delivered to De Leon City Hall or Police Department and will be sent to Dallas in two weeks for transport to Nicaragua. The Managua quake of December 23 left around 5,000 dead and 20,000 injured.
