Coach Larry Nabors led De Leon Bearcats to a 62-59 victory over Early in Comanche for the district 10-A title after a 49-47 overtime win against Dublin. Craig Smith led with 18 points, Daryl Ward 13, and Rocky Hardin 10 as De Leon snapped Early’s three-year hold on the championship.

Weaver Named Mental Health Chairperson
Mrs. Eula Weaver of De Leon was named Mental Health Chairperson for the May 1976 campaign. Carroll B. Bryant, president of the Texas Association for Mental Health, announced the appointment. The association will recruit volunteers for house-to-house outreach during Mental Health Month and promotes education and public information on mental health issues.

The Scout Fund Raising Drive began with a 7:00 a.m. breakfast at LaDon's Steak House.
