Community Club Holds February Meeting at Bearcat Grill

The regular monthly gathering of the Community Club will take place Thursday evening February 25 at 7 o clock at the Bearcat Grill. Members are urged to attend and a dinner will be served. Cards have been mailed to all members.

Tiny Morris laid to rest in De Leon funeral

Stanley Morris known as Tiny Morris born April 18 1907 in Comanche County Texas died February 6 1954 at Blackwell Sanitarium German aged 46. Funeral services were held February 18 1954 at 3 pm with Revs. Hilliard Richardson Hill officiating interment De Leon Cemetery pallbearers listed. Funeral home Sharp Nabors De Leon directed arrangements.

Three Influential De Leon Citizens In Hospitals

B J Pittman Sr. aged citizen of De Leon is critically ill at Medical Arts Hospital Dallas since before Christmas after entering February 21 and undergoing surgery Tuesday morning. A H Bibby has been in failing health and is a patient at St Joseph's Hospital Fort Worth. C M Caraway Jr. is a patient at Harris Memorial Hospital Fort Worth with Tuesday surgery and improving as expected.

Caravan for Christ to Visit Comanche Feb 26

Birchman Avenue Baptist Church workers from Fort Worth will hold a one night evangelistic rally in Comanche Friday night February 26 led by the Maker brothers Bo and Dick. The Birchman church choir will perform hymns including Keep Looking Up and The Haven of Rest as the Baker brothers trumpet numbers during the service. Every one is invited to attend this outreach event sponsored by the First Baptist Church Brotherhood.

The De Leon High School Junior Class presents a two hour Gay Nineties Review on Thursday March 4 at 8 pm. Mayor Nowlin and Coan Seek Reelection

Master Sgt. C A Parsons, whose wife Monette lives in De Leon, is returning to the U S after duty with the 2d Infantry Division in Korea. He was first sergeant of Battery D, 82nd Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion, joined the Army in 1940, and holds the Combat Infantryman Badge Good Conduct Medal Commendation Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal.

Eugene Budd Cozby Arrives Safely in Japan Aboard Corsair

Buddy Corby QM-3c serves aboard the U S S Corsan off Japan. His mother Mrs Rob Underhill received a letter he would call from Japan or China. The ship ships home around August. He notes cold weather and seven days of snow after arrival. He marked three years in the Navy on February 22 and expects discharge in November or December. Mrs Buddy Corby and daughter Chris visit in Central America while he is overseas.
