Danny Donegan Undergoes Surgery in Fort Worth
Danny Donegan underwent surgery at Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth on Wednesday after being accidentally shot weeks earlier. He is reported to be resting well and hopes to return home next week while his parents stay with him. Mrs. and Mrs. Donegan accompanied him to Fort Worth and a Cuero visitor, Mrs. Ames Hansford, is staying with the family.

The Leon Valley Protective Association Executive Committee met February 18 with all members present and adopted a resolution opposing land dispossession for the Proctor Dam. The measure seeks equal consideration in land law and allows dispossessed citizens to buy into affected properties or businesses. A general meeting is set for March 5 at City Hall.

C. M. Caraway, 14, of De Leon Illinois, captured the Junior Show champion Shorthorn at the San Antonio Livestock Show in Texas. The boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Caraway, Jr., was judged and shown under the guidance of R. H. Campbell, De Leon High School Vocational Agriculture teacher.

Wayne Pounds Hurt In Fall At School
Wayne Pounds ten year old son of Mr and Mrs Wendell Pounds fell from a bleacher at the elementary school grounds during noon hour Wednesday and struck his head on a pipe causing a severe fracture. He was brought to the local hospital for examination and remained unconscious Thursday before being moved to a Dallas specialist.
