Local boosters advertise a Saturday night doubleheader and a cake auction to benefit the Bret Sharp Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the Women All Stars versus Women Likers and Coaches versus Booster Club games aid scholarships and feature prize drawings.
The De Leon Board of Education approved a trustee election for filling expiring terms of Forrest Eisenrich and Donald Setzler. Election day is Saturday April 5 1975 at De Leon City Hall with Alda Daniell as judge and clerks Eula Weaver S E Glover Allene Boen. Absentee voting March 17 to April 1 at the High School office. Filing deadline March 6 with Secretary Eddie Lindley or the Superintendent. A March 13 paper will publish the full order. notices posted at Wisdoms Grocery Desdemona City Hall and De Leon Post Office.
Deral Brown and Robert Hodges named Citizen of the Year at the De Leon Chamber of Commerce and Women's Division Banquet held at PAR Country Club on February 12. Brown, VP at Farmers and Merchants Bank, active in community groups. Hodges, farmer and entrepreneur, longtime Public service and business leader.
