Comanche ISD Tax Suit Narrowed by Court Ruling
In a S2nd District Court hearing last Friday Judge Byron McClellan denied a petition to add 72 taxpayers as intervenors in a tax suit originally filed July 24 by 21 taxpayers against Comanche Independent School District and officials. The ruling leaves the original 21 as plaintiffs after a prior Aug 29 decision that the case was not a Class suit. The suit seeks to restrain levy assessment or collection of taxes over alleged irregularities in taxation methods.

Army Sergeant Larry D. Hight 21 son of Mr and Mrs Amos D Hight Route 2 Devon Texas recently earned the Bronze Star Medal and promotion while serving with the Americal Division near Chu Lai Vietnam He led as a squad leader in Company C 1st Battalion 6th Infantry 198th Brigade after enlisting in July 1969 and basic at Fort Bliss He is a 1967 De Leon High School graduate.

A regional Sabanna River watershed plan to control floods and aid water conservation for a quarter million acres in southern Eastland and northern Comanche counties moves forward.
