Fire Destroys Home on Pittman Street
A fire that started from a bathroom heater gutted a frame home on Pittman Street last Thursday night December 22. De Leon volunteers fought the blaze for over two hours damaging the interior and attic as firefighters faced dry conditions and many closets and stairways where fires rekindled. Owner Ben Hernandez and his daughter and son in law Freddy and Mrs Rubio lived there with three occupants reported. The Rubios remained at the scene until 1:00 a.m. Thursday.
