Peanuts Grading in De Leon Reaches New Totals
The De Leon weighing office reported 2230 tons of peanuts tested up to noon last Saturday with an estimated 750 more tons. Average grade stood at 60 percent. low 32 percent. high 73 percent. Growers from Brownwood Granbury Stephenville and nearby areas contributed to the total, with potential to push pounds to about 6.1 million if more peanuts are graded.

Col John Curtis Adams retired Army officer and light plane enthusiast escaped serious injury after his light plane conked out while circling to land at Cecil Shults ranch six miles north of Rising Star.
