De Leon Bearcats prepare for a tough Friday night playoff duel against Holliday Eagles. Fans pledge support as the team aims for another win after a hard fought season and strong community enthusiasm.
The De Leon Bearcats head to Graham Friday night at 8:00 p.m. to face Holliday in Class A quarterfinals. Holliday, 9-1, captured a bi district title with wins over Van Alstyne 20-0 and Princeton 19-0, with one non conference loss to Seymour 14-6. The Holliday offense features TB Johnny Veal and QB passing, while the defense is led by LB Greg Enis.
De Leon bears down in a 28-12 regional win at Cen-Tex Stadium Brownwood. Whitney struck early with two first half TDs but the Bearcats defense held scoreless in the final two quarters as Craig Smith connected with Rocky Hardin for a 31 yard TD and Mark McKillip added a 26 yard run during a 64 yard, 7 play march.
Ninety Comanche Countians are named as prospective petit jurors for the S2nd District Court in Comanche. Hundreds from Brown Callahan Coleman comanche McCulloch and Runnels counties will honor Rep. Lynn Nabers of Brownwood at the Brownwood Coliseum on December 4 1975 at 7 00 p m. Youth groups from district schools will entertain and state officials will join in recognizing Nabers for his work in the Texas Legislature. He is described as one of the four most outstanding House members and chairs the Health and Welfare Committee.
