Bearcats Scrimmage Coleman Friday Night
The Bearcats host Coleman teams in a Friday night scrimmage at Bearcat Field. Junior Varsity starts at 6:30 p.m. the varsity about 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and spectators are asked to bring an old towel for dressing rooms. Next week the Bearcats travel to Hamilton for scrimmages.

Dove Season Opens September 1 Across Texas Zones

South zone runs September 22 to November 4 1979 and January 5 to 20 1980. White-winged dove dates vary by county with Rio Grande area ending October 31.

Joe Locke will again serve as local chairman of the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association. City in Texas Receives August Sales Tax Rebates
State Comptroller Bob Bullock reported Texas cities shared 268.9 million dollars in one percent city sales tax rebate checks for the first eight months of 1979. August allocations total 27.2 million, up 25 percent from 1978 year to date and about 12 percent higher than last August. Local rebates listed include DeLeon 2065.10, Breckenridge 22171.07, Brownwood 37725.74, Granbury 17846.26, Stephenville 23095.96, among many others across the region.

De Leon Schools Offer Free and Reduced Lunch For 1979-80
The De Leon District will participate in free and reduced price lunches for the 1979-80 school year with nutritious meals served daily. Elementary students pay 50 cents and secondary students 55 cents for lunch, while breakfast costs 25 cents and extra milk 15 cents. Families at or below income scales qualify for free or reduced meals, with a reduced lunch price of 10 cents in several counties. All students receive enrollment applications for meals, and no child is discriminated against.
