Duke and Ayres Celebrate Fifth Anniversary in De Leon

Duke and Ayres Inc marks its fifth anniversary with an Anniversary Sale in De Leon on Saturday April 30. Ely Visit Brings De Leon Relative Grandson on Leave

Visiting in De Leon A-2c Thomas L. Ely, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Ely of Midland and grandson of Mrs. M. J. Wylie of De Leon, arrived for a 30 day leave to visit his grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Funderburgh hosted their son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Funderburgh and their son Phillip from Grand Prairie. The group spent Saturday at Lake Brownwood.

Methodist Revival Begins With Youth Meetings

The spring revival at the Methodist church began Wednesday evening led by Memphis evangelist Moody B. Cunningham. Pastor Floyd W. Thrash preaches with evening services daily. next week services are 10 a.m. and 7 30 p.m. Breakfasts for men are planned at 6 30 a.m. Monday through Friday. The revival closes Sunday May 8.

Child Dies After Short Illness

Arturo Lopez 18 month old son of Julius and Jesusa Lopez died at a Fort Worth hospital on Sunday April 24. Final Rites Held For 0. M. Locke

Olon Marvina Locke longtime county resident died April 22 after a heart attack. Born in Tallapoosa County Alabama he married Ada Me Kennie in 1905 and left a daughter Anice Locke of Ranger. Surviving are his wife, daughter, two brothers T. H. and W. L. Locke of De Leon. Funeral services held April 22 at First Methodist Church De Leon with Rev. Flood Thrash and Rev. James R. 4 H Fun Festival Set For Friday in Comanche High School

Comanche County 4 H club boys and girls present a county share the fun festival Friday April 29 at 7 30 P M in the Comanche High School Auditorium. Tri City Road Completion Celebration Planned

Strawn Desdemona and De Leon plan a May 17 celebration in Desdemona for Highway 16 completion from De Leon to Strawn. At the meeting Tuesday evening the Lions announced and elected the nominees recommended by the nominating committee to fill club offices for the coming year. Thomas Granger Named To Post As Executive Secretary

Rev. Thomas B. Granger pastor of First Methodist Church Georgetown was named Executive Secretary of the Central Texas Methodist Conference Board of Education. The appointment takes effect after the conference session in Fort Worth June 8 to 12. Granger will organize a education program for church workers and coordinate work at colleges and training schools in the conference. He is a Waxahachie native, married to Elizabeth Shores, with two children, Gary and Judy. He has served at Waxahachie Circuit Line Street and Matthew Street churches and earlier taught music at-Lunsford? Ross College Alpine and Ennis.
