Five Kittens Head For Regional Track Meet
Five members of the DHS Kitten Track Team will compete at the Regional Track Meet in Stephenville on Saturday April 24. The top two finishers in each event advance to the State Meet in Austin on May 7 and 8. Kelly Mitchell competes in the 80 yard hurdles and high jump. Perri Lou Short qualified for the 100 yard dash and long jump. Shirlee Chupp runs the 220 yard dash. Terri Van Zandt will take part in the triple jump. The 440 and 880 relays seek a trip to Austin with Shirlee Chupp Kelly Mitchell and Perri Lou Short on both relays. Terrie Van Zandt runs the first leg of the 440 relay and Sherry Riggs the first leg of the 880 relay.

County Savings Bond Chairman Reginald Waggon er announced February sales of Series E and H United States Savings Bonds in Comanche County totaled 25 681. Two month 1976 sales were 32 662 at 16 percent of the 1976 goal of 200 000. Teans purchased 22 615 095 in Savings Bonds in February. Year to date sales reached 46 733 395 at 17 percent of the yearly goal of 272 4 million.

Wayland Deval Brown of 405 West Ayers De Leon has been selected for the 1976 edition of Outstanding Young Men of America. Local CB'ers Help to Apprehend Robbers
At 11 15 p m Monday night CB radio reports alerted police to four suspects driving through alleys. One man trying to break into Heathington's Store was arrested by Officer Tate, while three CB units blocked the car. other arrests followed as authorities linked them to a Rising Star burglary.

Comanche pharmacist Ted Durham, 36, was found bound and fatally stabbed Thursday night in his Durham Pharmacy at 111 North Houston Street. About $300 in cash and drugs were taken. suspects Richard Owain Smith and Dennis Ripley were arrested Sunday. Durham, a World War II veteran and civic club member, was born January 6 1909 in Comanche and is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and parents. Services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Comanche Funeral Home.
