Statewide Senior Citizens meet highlights pension push
The State-Wide Senior Citizens Association held a regional meeting in this week with delegates from across Texas. President Ben Wilson and secretary-treasurer Mrs. B. F. Friend of Waco led efforts to boost old age aid ceilings and fund future programs through local Pension Clubs. Delegates from Dallas, Waco, Fort Worth, Comanche and others attended. about 200 people were present.

Highway Patrol Reports Busy March for Fort Worth District
Fort Worth Texas Highway Patrol districts logged 28 45 traffic violators in March. Captain Jack Sutherland said 771 were arrested and 2074 warned for State Traffic Laws offenses. Comanche County Reinstated in Drought Area
On Wednesday April 13 1955 Comanche County was reinstated in the drought disaster area and farmers may apply at the Farmers Home Administration or the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation offices for a 30 day supply of surplus grains from the Commodity Credit Corporation. Applications accepted through April 29 1955. Approved applications lead to Farmers Purchase Orders and a credit of 1.00 per cwt toward surplus grain purchases from designated CCC stocks.

Marvin Rich Burns In Dumas Gasoline Explosion
Marvin Rich twenty of Andrews suffered severe burns in a gasoline explosion at work in Dumas on Friday night. He was employed by Shillingberg Drilling Co. His parents messaged them Saturday and his mother traveled to Andrews after the injury. He received medical care at an Andrews hospital.

De Leon and Waxahachie FFA chapters won sweepstakes at the 27th Tarleton State College invitational judging contest for FFA. The event drew 484 teams with 1,450 boys from 160 schools across Areas 4 7 and 8, with area winners advancing to state at Texas A&M on May 14. First place teams earned plaques banners and one high individual a semester tuition scholarship at Tarleton.

May 16 Tentatively Set for Big Highway Celebration
