First Baptist Church De Leon invites worshippers to seven nightly revival services April 15 to 22 at 7 00 p m with evangelist Fred Lowery and musician Joe Atkinson The Lowery team, based in Hurst Texas, has led over 200 crusades and teaches evangelism at Southwestern Seminary.
Mayor M D Stewart announced De Leon has received 7094 from the Federal Government as the first quarter 1973 share of federal assistance to state and local governments. Funds will buy new equipment and support street, water and sewer improvements to improve the city.
Dallas Cowboys free safety Charlie Waters will address the Quarterback Club All Sports Banquet on April 28 at City Hall. The event honors football basketball track and golf participants as Waters, entering his fourth Cowboys season, has a noted history with Clemson and local ventures.
