Comanche County residents urged to support the Federal Crop Insurance Program as the prior year showed strong crops. Parents reminded to bring children to the Easter Egg Hunt on April 14 from 2 to 3 PM on the High School lot. Voters asked to participate in the Saturday school trustee election with seven candidates. De Leon 4-H sponsors a turkey shoot at the Riding Club Barn on Sunday April 8 to raise funds for a Texas 4-H Youth Center at Lake Brownwood. Cancer Crusade To Begin Wednesday
The American Cancer Society launches its 1973 residential Crusade Wednesday in De Leon and nearby communities with over forty women volunteering to visit neighbors for cancer research education and patient services. Pack 37 and Webelos leaders will join in calling on areas of De Leon next week to distribute cancer checkup information and explain fund use. Donations can be left with Mrs. James Wilkerson at the Free Press Office if not called upon.
