The David son Union Hospital Board held a Saturday meeting with members including DT Hutcheon and George Jose. September: admissions, discharges, births, minor operations. August had no meetings. A septic tank upgrade bid from Wagg Wilson Co. of Regina was discussed and a local-labor option considered.
The funeral of the late Mrs Lewis Keeling, who died at Edmonton on September 1, 1928, was held in Davidson on Friday afternoon. A private 3 PM service at the home of Mrs Keeling's mother was followed by a graveside ceremony conducted by Rev H Joyce. Floral tributes came from Chevrolet Motor Co Regina Edmonton staff, United Commercial Travellers, Missionary Society of Robertson Church, Three Links Elbow, Elbow Ladies' Aid, and many relatives in British Columbia and Nova Scotia. Out of town attendees included Mr and Mrs Frank Radcliff and others from Elbow and local friends. Pallbearers were Dr Coghlan and Messrs D McParlane, J J Pallie, Longmore, Methausen, and R S West. Keeling family to remain in town for a while.
A quiet wedding was held Monday at the parsonage in Imperial Saskatchewan. Mics A Locinds Hefty rich daughter of Mr and Mrs Aue Heinrich married Pte Frederick Sunehte of the Gushiemn GhGte. They will reside nearby after harvest leave.
Volunteer troops descended on grain fields near Sam Maron ten miles northeast of town, stocking 160 acres of wheat and oats in a single afternoon. By six o clock the last field was stocked as townspeople and school groups arrived to work and share a meal. A second colony worked at Guy Matteson’s farm Tuesday evening, with supper served in the field.
Thanksgiving Day this year is set for Monday October 14 in line with recent practice. The shift favors extended family reunions during the season of thanks. Some groups lobbied to move the holiday to Thereday, and a harmonized Canadian date was also proposed with the U S Thanksgiving in November.
Reports from Regina indicate a new order to call Class Three men for military service after harvest. The measure targets single men and widowers aged 34 to 45 with no children, as Ottawa prepares to issue the directive to registrars. Saskatchewan has about 20 400 Class Four men in training and may shift to Class Three before Class Two, aiming to deploy overseas with those without dependents.

W T Jensen was badly burned when fumes from a pail of gasoline exploded on a Rae Thomas farm fourteen miles southwest of Tavideon Laat. The fire burned both legs and one hand. he was helped by Rae Thomas and a hired man and treated at hospital that night.
The Saskatchewan Motor League plans to meet government officials over painting telephone posts to mark beet route roads. President Sherif L. Calder says clubs will supply paint and volunteers, with no major opposition expected for a single long distance pole.
