Annual Supper and Concert Delights Star School District

The annual supper and concert at Star School drew about two hundred attendees last Friday. Ladies of the district hosted from seven to ten, serving the meal and entertaining with a brief program. Residents praised the event as the best yet and many from town attended.

Ladies' Hospital Aid Meeting and Donations Report

A casual gathering of the Ladies' Hospital Aid met at Mrs Archibald's home last Thursday. During the month members produced two pairs of sheets and six high tips which were handed to the hospital. Miss June Myrick and Miss Thelma Visiting Committee led the proceedings.

Death Removes One of Earliest Settlers

Robert Stour, longtime Davidson district resident born in Commerce Missouri, died after a week of critical illness. He moved to Canada thirteen years after birth, lived on sec 10-27-13 farm with his family, and supported by LOOF and Masonic orders. His funeral and burial were conducted with full lodge rites. services featured Rev An Sanderson and a male quartet, with over two hundred mourners.

Big Saskatchewas land sale nets large profit

The Davidson Leader reports on a Saskatchewas sale where George McLoon bought SW 23-26-28-02 at 30 per acre totaling 94800 for 166 acres. J Southworth of Denville Illinois earlier acquired 640 acres in Canada at 6 per acre, 440 acres for 9340, with the main gain tied to land value increases over about a decade.
