Arm River Council Rejects Open Herd Law Plea at Meeting
At the regular Arm River Council session on Saturday, Arthur Jas Hobertson was named returning officer for the upcoming municipal elections and deputy returning officers were appointed for each division. Reeve Blackmore reported inquiries about 1917 tax sale certificates and the council decided to retain them for another year. W White of Girim district complained the herd law would hurt his farming operations amid fire damage to hay and pastures. the council favored keeping the herd law but the Reeve would seek to address White’s grievance. The council discussed relocating the Da IT pound to a more central division. Accounts were passed for payment.
