Annual Meeting of Ratepayers in Town Hall
A small audience attended the town hall meeting on Monday evening. Mayor Hutcheon and Councillors McDonald and Easter were present. Councillor Whitelock was reportedly ill. Reports were scant as the audited financial statement could not be presented. The ledger read by Town Clerk Hetertson showed electric light receipts for ten months at 4055.02. cement crossings 563.30. sidewalk repairs 247. cemetery 165.85. town hall rental receipts 1400 with expenditures 1155. Taxes uncollected totalled 18000, about 3851 more than last year. The first town debenture for sidewalks was nearly paid. The electric light plant remained self sustaining with a small profit. the power house showed improvement, supporting a move to purchasing the auxiliary. The policy shift to replace wooden crossings with cement was evident in sidewalk costs. Cowan McDonald sought critique of the new policy.

pneumonia claims life of former citizen
A Saskatchewan community mourns Grayce Maude McGill and her husband Mr. F A McGill as the influenza epidemic capsizes a family near Riverhurst. Grayce, born October 23 1885 in Bellingham, Manitoba, died November 23 after her son and husband fell ill and the family received care from neighbors and medical staff. The couple leaves two young children and their extended families, with funeral rites held at the local cemetery and lodge affiliations noted.

Olives N Carruthers of Mr and Mrs Atchison Carruthers Aywlvin Quebec died Sunday November 10 at Leeer Saskatchewan while visiting his brother a Gangerounly of influents Oliver better known as Ollie He homesteaded eleven years in the Girvin district later moving to Alberta to lead a PR force at Brooks He returned to Girvin and farmed with his brother W C Carruthers He leaves a tether and mother six sisters and brothers two serving overseas The remains were left at Leney for interment due to moving difficulties and a safe burial plan to follow
