Henry Worrall, who joined the 68th Batt. and served overseas, arrived home last Friday in frail health after illness in England and discharge as medically unfit in Canada. Friends offer sympathy and hope the prairie climate will restore his strength, noting he did his part for the empire.
A Missouri newspaper row reveals a printer's error mixing an obituary with a fire notice. The garbled text describes pall bearers and a body consigned to flames, mocking an unpopular resident while noting insurance coverage. Fred Brock of the western outskirts suffered a close call when a barb wire staple snapped from a post and struck his right eye. He traveled to Regina for medical consultation with a specialist who remains hopeful for his recovery.

The Methodist Church hosted a pupil oration night last Friday with a small audience of about 35. Miss Floseie Bell delivered The Defence of Liege to top honors, followed by Miss Lillian O'Brien on Canada’s role in the Great War. Stanley Wood, Joe Rowe, Miss Lillian Donald, and others spoke well. musical numbers featured Annie Kingston, Edith Cawsey, Florence Barrier, and Geo Florence. A B McGregor presided.
Ida Catharine Calloway wife of Glen Calloway died in Newberry Michigan on Friday morning March 16 at age 2 years five months and six days. Born in Vermont she came to Chavideon district with parents Mr and Mrs Alex Smith on August 10 18. In November 1914 she married Glen Calloway and lived nearby before moving to Newberry last year to farm. Funeral held after brief service by Rev T Bray at M S Popplewell parlors with interment in Davidson cemetery. She leaves husband three children father and mother four brothers Rodney William Warner Raymond and sister Winnie.
