A fence was erected on the east side of land formerly owned by Mrs Schaefer and sold to Mrs Gustafson whose husband holds land nearby. Gustafson had told the town council she owned the land and sought removal of a nuisance ground to be ploughed. The council claimed Gustafson’s rights were valid.
Davidson Soldier Wounded in France Receives Update
A letter from the family of Fred Rance, who enlisted from Davidson, reports he was severely wounded in France and had a leg amputated above the knee. The informant notes he is recovering and had risen to sergeant before the injury.
