Frost Hits Wheat Crops Across District After July Cold Spell
Frost on the morning of July 24 damaged grain across the district, with eight degrees reported at C W Ketcheson and Rorebush farms and lesser amounts elsewhere. West of the Arr River extensive damage matched eastward losses from Girvin to Davidson, while gardens and potatoes showed minor effects in town. The frost struck after daylight with a sudden wind-like cold wave, origin uncertain.

The Cherry Grove council met Saturday with four square mile district size under discussion. The secretary asked to extend boundaries to sections 11 18 23 and 36 to access municipal or government aid. Inspector McLeod supported the move noting urgent repairs and a 890 dollar operating shortfall. The council approved extending boundaries to raise funds and consider aid, while listing four tax arrears parcels for sale September 6.
