In this country town notes Mrs. Fletcher improves slowly while Mrs. Graham s condition worsens after a paralytic stroke at her son s home and while the town records several local updates including telephone pole work depot substitutions, brick work on a new drug store, and a moving Bradford family.
Mrs Chas Kroeger of Eldridge Indiana spends a few days with her father J Schlueter. A large sale at Piliions on Tuesday with Van Pelt as auctioneer saw many horses and buggies sold. Miss Mattie Coleman left for Minneapolis to spend the winter. Mrs Neverhaus and Mrs Vernentin and their little son visited Mrs Borne Yanan on Tuesday. Miss Laura Shuman visited with friends Monday. Mrs Tda Meyser entertained in honor.
The week featured a lively show with good attendance. David Paul visited his brother in Stuart Iowa for several days. Henry Weise tried fishing midweek. Mr Jungjohann is building a new house in the town’s west end. Mrs. Jacob Ackley now ill. Residents attended a poverty social in Long Grove on Thursday. Mrs Kepler and Miss Gertie Kepler from Summit visited Wednesday afternoon. Chris Jessen moved to his farm east of town. Republicans attended a Davenport rally on Oct 1. John Prist runs a threshing engine this fall. Potato buyers report strong demand at 23 cents per bushel. James and Arthur Irwin attended events in Des Moines and Washington respectively. Mrs. Cranfill of Troy LT credits Kodol with curing years of indigestion and dyspepsia after four bottles. The ad claims the product digests what you eat and strengthens digestion, with Emers' Pharmacy and local druggists listed as sellers.
The Religious Society of the Unitarian Church presents a large program for this evening including twelve numbers across history literature and music plus services readings and hymns. The orchestra led by Will F Heesch performs two selections from Tannhauser with a life sketch of Wagner and member contributions. participants include Ella Phillips Clara Heesch Oswald Stark and others. The guild, with one of the citys largest memberships, welcomes all city youths to attend the meeting at the Unitarian church this evening.
The program lists papers on Thomas Jefferson by Rear Rev a M Judy and Miss E Phillips on Thomas Paine. It includes reviews of Janice Meredith, poems Independence by Miss Alice Bredaw and Nora Buck, drama extract Rienzi, Wagner sketches, and concerts featuring Tannhauser, with the meeting called to order at 7 15.
The Etude club met October 18 at the Misses Jordan home for a program including Moon Moth by Kassmer Lena Crawford and six other pieces. Officers elected: President Miss Stephens, Vice President Miss McCarl, Secretary Miss Meyer. Republican notes follow ads in the Rvant columns.

Registers of Election in Davenport Iowa announce registration days October 2 1902 October 5 and November 1 1902 from 8 am to 9 pm for the November 4 1922 election.
