Eggert Ewald, described as indiscreet with his money in Bucktown on Monday night, was robbed after a purs e snatching incident. Capt. Irehood arrested Auertochs who confessed to the theft and was bound over to the grand jury in 19 bonds. the purse was recovered but the $15 cash within remained missing.

Pahl Dies After Crossing Rail Switch Tragedy
Augustus G. Pahl died Tuesday afternoon after attempting to cross a Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul switch track near Davenport Vinegar Works. The coroner's inquest found death accidental with no intoxication. funeral held for Pahl at Oakdale cemetery with seven children and his widow as mourners.

Scott County delegates met in secret to select a home candidate to present at Maquoketa for the Democratic congressional convention. Henry Vollmer urged Doe as a fit choice while Sharon supports pushed for a dark horse strike. The delegation split, but Doe was named the county’s candidate with E. L.
