Mrs Pearl Tokarchuk died at the family residence after a long illness on Thursday Aug 2. Funeral services were held Monday Aug 3 at St Pauls Anglican Church. Surviving are husband William four sons Gordon John Michael William all of Dauphin and five daughters. Interment Riverside cemetery with Archdeacon H E Bridgett officiating.
Steve Moroz of Dauphin died at home on Oak Street Monday August 30 after a long illness. Born in Poland 55 years ago he came to the district in 1899 and married Emily Skwarok in 1936. Survived by wife two daughters all in Toronto. son Joseph in Toronto. two brothers Gilbert Plains and Fred of Dauphin. two sisters Annie Myk Gilbert Plains and Eileen Koral Venlaw. Funeral September 2 at Sneaths with Rev. S Hrebeniuk officiating. interment Riverside Cemetery.
Community notices describe a party for Mr and Mrs Todesy Boyechko with guests from Winnipeg North Lake and Pine Falls. Family presented a new kitchen range as a gift. Other items note weather related damage at Wieden, travel and employment moves, and condolences for the Feduik family.
Combined Holy Communion to be held at Spruce Creek Hall on September 9 at 11 o clock with Dr. T B Pearson of Gilbert Plains officiating. Christenings and dedication service also planned. Community notes record prayer meeting for women’s missionary society formation and club meetings, plus local visits and greetings. Salvation Army services listed with times and fellowship.
Dickson School began Monday last week with Mr Sytnyck of Dauphin as teacher Charlie Shields made a business trip to Winnipeg. Bill Shemluk suffered an eye injury requiring medical attention. Frankie Roy and Harold Rust of Winnipeg, who spent holidays in the district, returned home at the weekend.
Mr and Mrs H Dudar and son Gerald left for Ethelbert after a holiday at the Budalowski home. P Jaddock and family of Dauphin visited Momatiuk. Sierko family of Dauphin visited Chawron. Todosey, Fedirchuk and Billy drove to Mink Creek to see relatives. N Skrypnyk visited Dauphin. Olga Dosko of Dauphin spent the weekend at home. Wally Didur heads to Winnipeg for Kelvin high school. Melvin Cherniawski went to Dauphin for high school. Stan Zale and Ollie Rewnlak visited N Schwets family last weekend.
ETHELBERT Mr and Mrs Eugene Gallett of Galt Ont are visiting her parents. Neighbors plus relatives from Burlington Ont and Oakburn and Mountain Park Alta attended a silver wedding tribute for Mr and Mrs F Halinsky. School opens with new substitute in primary and a farewell to Rev Hrebeniuk.
