Everard Brickman Dies at 26 in The Pas

Everard Ady Brickman, aged 26, died suddenly in The Pas. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Dauphin United Church, burial at Gilbert Plains. Survived by parents W S Brickman and five brothers Stan Arnold Russell Orvil Roy and three sisters Laura Rosella Phyllis. a former Northland Drug Company employee and Manitoba Horse Sergeant Major noted for boxing football and swimming.

Mrs Free former Dauphin resident dies in Neepawa

Mrs William Free a former Dauphin resident died suddenly at her Neepawa home on Tuesday morning after weeks of ill health. Born Annie Margaret Lucy on November 4 1869 in Joyceville Ontario she moved west in 1906 and lived in Dauphin before relocating to Neepawa in 1925. She was a life member of the United Church W M S W C T U and the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her daughter Miss Iida two brothers W Lacy of Elgin and Dr F G Lacy of Kingston two sisters Miss Eta of Neepawa and Mrs John McFarlane of Kingston. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Neepawa United Church with Riverside cemetery interment. Reverend Cruikshank led the service and Eastern Star members conducted a service. Pallbearers were R H Fusee John McIntosh H R Rutledge Dr O N McDougall A T Herbert and Fred Taylor.

Dauphin Little Theatre Wins Shield Again at Local Drama Festival

The four annual Drama Festival closed Friday night with Dauphin Little Theatre earning the festival shield for Pyramus and Thisbe, the second consecutive win after The Valiant. Winnipegosis Dramatic Society took second with The Lord's Prayer, McCreary Women's Institute third with Autumn Blooming. adjudicator Mr. Robert Jarman praised higher standard and highlighted Rose Dawson and Lucy Blackburn for acting, and Mayor Milford for his standout performance.

Local Softball League Forms Organizers and Start Date

A Commercial Softball league organized with president Liam Eliott and sec treasurer Gerald Bird. The executive includes team captains from Business Boosters Safeway Dauphin Social Club and Bankers. Action begins Friday May 15 at Mackenzie school grounds. Girls' Softball Club to organize at Whitmore school Monday at 7 30.

Entries Open for City Art Exhibition at Armoury

Entries for the Art Exhibition will be received at the Armoury Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 4 to 6. The exhibition opens to the public Friday and Saturday May 8th and 9th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sifton Lone Wolf Sentenced For Burglaries

John Zabinsky a.k.a. Lone Wolf of Sifton Manitoba pleaded guilty in Yorkton to six breaking and entering theft charges and other counts. He received concurrent five year terms at Prince Albert penitentiary, with Det H Walker and Constable M Novakowski aiding the Yorkton RCMP investigation.
