Curtain Rises This Thursday for Regional Drama Festival

The 1863 Dauphin Regional division annual drama festival opens Thursday at 8 p.m. with three nights of one act plays in the town hall. Adjudicator Mrs. Sheila Maurer of Winnipeg will comment after each evening.

TransAir Introduces Viscount Service to Daunhin

TransAir Limited launches Viscount Service to Daunhin with a new timetable. Flight 103 from Winnipeg arrives at 7:05 am and departs at 7:15 am for The Pas Flin Flon and Lynn Lake. Flight 104 from the north arrives at 4 pm and departs for Winnipeg. The northern service reaches Churchill on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Prairie services schedules appear on Page 16 with Winnipeg connections for Dauphin passengers.

Dauphin Officer Appointed To Command Arctic Detachment

Squadron Leader Kenneth C. Lee of Dauphin has been named officer command ing the RCAF detachment at Resolute Bay Cornwallis Island. Lee, 32, educated at Dauphin Collegiate, joined the RCAF in 1950s and served at Winnipeg Uplands Trenton and Air Transport Command. He piloted royal aircraft for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Bernhard during Canadian visits. He is married to Edda Spedal of Winnipeg with two daughters. The Resolute Bay detachment operates an airfield servicing arctic resupply missions during the six week ice free season.

Dauphin Agricultural Society announces 1963 livestock show and sale on Friday May 10 in Dauphin. The event includes 26 purebred bulls 7 bred Yorkshire and Lacombe sows 150 4H calves from 13 clubs with weighing at 7 a.m. and judging at 9 a.m. Sale begins 1 20 p.m. with purebreds then 4H calves. Mobile Feed Processing Service Opens In Dauphin

Jack Rynsburger, new Manitoba citizen, launches a full mobile feed processing service for Dauphin and district including Grand View West and Ste. Rose du Lac East. He plans a regular route schedule so farmers know the service dates. He recently trained in Lancaster Pennsylvania on feed mobile operation.

Top Individual Winners At 1963 Dauphin Short Course

The Easter week Short Course held by the Dauphin Agricultural Society produced top performers. Kare Miner led as grand aggregate winner and queen, Evelyn Klock won first-year aggregate, Janice Fisher was runner up in home making, and Murry Edwards took grand aggregate honors in the agricultural course with the Scrase trophy. Dr. J M Nesbitt presented awards, with Ken Campbell and Brian Damegaard among other winners and runners-up.
